Temporomandibular joint and muscle disorders (TMJDs) refer to a complex and poorly understood set of conditions that can cause pain in the area of the jaw joint and associated muscles and/or problems using the jaw. Both or just one of the TM joints may be affected. TMJDs can affect a person's ability to speak, eat, chew, swallow, make facial expressions, and even breathe.
Demonstrates the problematic conditions associated with the joint capsule. Emphasis on the disc, surrounding bone inflammation, and also the effects on the teeth. (cracks, chips, cavities, and characteristics of bruxism.)
Note: This is a demonstrative model; the mandible has a functional opening range of up to 1/2" only. It is not fully articulating. Exceeding this range may cause damage to the model.Size: 6" x 6" x 6 1/2".
